Selecting Your location ~ Ottawa Family Photography
Locations can totally set the tone of your session. Whether you are looking for a quick and easy session in your neighborhood or a full adventure to the beach we can document it all! I highly recommend choosing a location (and season!) that would work well with your decor and the vibe you are going for. Finding locations that have a few different options close together or have the option to add some fun ( ice cream shop, playing in the water etc.) can add variety to your gallery. Some of these locations work better at different times of day. Lighting is the number one factor when considering your location. Beautiful lighting in a meh location will trump a beautiful location and crappy lighting any day! lighting is key! Which is why I will always encourage you to book a sunset time slot if possible.
Below are a few options, there are far to many to list! I'm always happy to try new locations as well. Many of my clients have beautiful property or know of a hidden gem so if you have a great spot I would love to try it out! I always just make sure that lighting will be working with us and not against us and I aim for unkept ground, long grass over freshly mowed lawns for a more natural look.

Urban
From the big city to your home town urban locations are a great backdrop for a fun family session. Ice cream, city streets and cute little store fronts add variety to your gallery!

The Beach
Sunsets at the beach are always worth it! I always recommend packing a towel and a change of clothes for the kiddos so we can capture some fun moments splashing in the water at the end out session. Not only will your little ones have a great evening playing at the beach but you will have beautiful photos to document it!
